The Hotel Iceland TeamWhen to come
The aurora season in Iceland runs from late August to mid-April, when the nights are dark enough. The sweet spot is September–October and February–March, when you get long dark nights and milder weather.
Where to look from the hotel
From the Northern Lights Loft you can watch straight from bed through the skylight. If you're in another room, our rooftop terrace faces north, away from the brightest street lights.
How we help
- A free aurora wake-up call — tell reception and we'll knock if the lights appear.
- Warm gear to borrow at the front desk.
- Guided evening tours we can book for you.
Pack patience, a warm hat, and a sense of wonder. The rest is up to the sky.
